What is the Message of Your Heart?

What does the heart have to share today? Breathe into the heartspace, breathe out from the heartspace. Breathe into the heartspace. Breath out from the heart space. Breathe into the heartspace. Breathe out from the heartspace. Pause.

What does the heart space want you to know today?

That you are safe? That you are whole? That it’s ok to rest? That it’s ok to take a step in the direction of your heart’s true longing?

What does the heart feel like today?

Is it cloudy? Is it open and joyful? Is it scared or anxious? Is it sad and heavy?

What does the heart need from you today?

Is it tears and emotional purging? Is it sustenance and healthy foods? Is it more water? Is it kind words of love to yourself? Is it simple presence and attention?

Spend a few minutes, even a few moments, to feel into that space…the tender middle of your chest. You don’t have to stay long if the feeling is intense. Just touch into it with your awareness, and retreat. Touch in, retreat. Do it a few more times.

Or if more room is available, touch in and linger with active curiosity and attention. Breathe into it. Allow images to float to your mind. The heart often communicates in sensation, frequency, and imagery. It will show you what to consider, what to ponder, where to put your attention…what your next move should be.

The heart is our greatest tool for emotional wellbeing. It will tell you what you need to know, and it will give you the roadmap to healing. The more we work with and trust the heartspace energy, the more intimate the relationship we develop, and the more we can hear the message, the voice of our heart.

This is what is meant by everything you need is already inside you. The wisdom you seek is in the heartspace. It’s not in the mind. It’s not in the intellect. Alignment with our true self or higher self comes from the heartspace. It is available to you now, in silence, through an intention to receive gentle wisdom from the heart.

When you’re not sure where to turn, how to solve a problem, or what decision to make, your greatest resource is the wisdom of the heart. Breathe into it. Ask your heart the question. And allow. Allow the information to come into your consciousness. This is heart-based meditation.

Often the mind tries to get involved. It says, “Look over here.” Or “What about this problem.” Or “Why did he do that.” When you’re in a heart-centered meditation and that happens, it’s ok. It’s normal. Give your mind something to do…listen to music or let it prattle on in the background while you turn your attention back to the heart. Breathe into the heart. Breathe out from the heart. Receive.
